Our Story

How a small idea grew into a global movement celebrating craftsmanship and conscious consumption.

Founded 2018

It Started with a Single Vase

In 2018, our founder Maya Chen traveled to Oaxaca, Mexico, where she met Rosa—a third-generation potter whose family had been creating black clay ceramics for over a century.

Rosa's work was extraordinary, yet she struggled to reach customers beyond local markets. Meanwhile, mass-produced imitations of traditional crafts flooded online marketplaces, undercutting artisans and erasing the stories behind their work.

Maya returned home with Rosa's vases—and a mission. What if there was a marketplace that celebrated the makers behind the objects? A platform where buying a piece meant supporting a family, preserving a tradition, and owning something with genuine soul?

Our Guiding Principles

The values that shape every decision we make.

Human Connection

Every product has a maker. We share their stories, show their faces, and ensure you know exactly who benefits from your purchase.

Radical Transparency

We publish exactly how every dollar is distributed. No hidden fees, no mystery markups. You see where your money goes.

Planet-First Operations

Carbon-neutral shipping, plastic-free packaging, and partnerships with makers who prioritize sustainable materials.

Quality Over Quantity

We curate, we don't collect. Each artisan is carefully vetted. If it doesn't meet our standards, it doesn't make it to our marketplace.

Fair Compensation

Artisans set their own prices. We take a flat 25% commission—one of the lowest in the industry—so makers keep more of what they earn.

Craft Preservation

We actively fund apprenticeships and documentation projects to ensure traditional techniques survive for future generations.
